An AES rooftop HVAC overheated and triggered a fire alarm. The building exercised appropriate fire drill protocol and evacuated the building and the fire department in conjunction with plant facilities investigated the incident. The building has been cleared and deemed safe. A strong odor is persisting on the intermediate side, so all students are on the primary side. If parents would like to pick up their child they may do so on the primary side.
We appreciate the fact that our staff, students, and fire department are working together during this time.

Students at AES have the opportunity to earn recognition for positive behavior during the week. When staff members see students showcase one of our 5 learner dispositions students are rewarded with a Phoenix Feather. Every Friday, the names of every student who earned a Phoenix Feather are read during the morning opening. All student slips are entered into a drawing, and one student is randomly chosen to receive donuts for his or her class.
This week's Phoenix Feather winner is Rhett Durkin from Mr. Mispagel's 4th grade class.
