Atchison Public Schools is proud to celebrate Stefanie Bourne, District Special Education Programs & Systems Specialist, for receiving the 2026 Whelan Leadership for Learning Award as a member of the Early Childhood Leadership Cadre.
The Early Childhood Leadership Cadre brings together leaders from early childhood programs across Northeast Kansas to collaborate, share expertise, and strengthen learning opportunities for young children and families. The 2026 award recognizes the Cadre’s exceptional leadership, collaboration, and commitment to sustaining high-quality early childhood programs throughout the region.
Prior to joining USD 409, Stefanie served as principal of the Earl Lawson Early Education Center in Leavenworth USD 453, where she represented the district as a member of the Cadre. Her experience in early childhood leadership, program development, and regional collaboration now brings valuable expertise to Atchison Public Schools.
