Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at USD 409 in Atchison, Kansas! My name is Dr. Renee Nugent, and I am excited to begin my fifth year as superintendent of schools. I am thrilled to embark on another exciting academic journey with our dedicated students, committed educators, and supportive community.
With over 30 years of experience in various roles within the education system--classroom teacher, educational diagnostician, school counselor, associate principal, and assistant superintendent prior to my current role--my passion for learning and dedication to fostering a positive learning environment for all students continues to be the driving force behind me.
