USD 409 wants to share important updates regarding the new law the Kansas Legislature passed in the spring of 2026, along with policies adopted to comply with this law. In accordance with the passage of Kansas House House Bill 2299, Atchison Public Schools will join all Kansas school districts and will be cell phone free beginning with the 2026-2027 year. Students' personal electronic devices must be turned off and securely stored away from students during the school day.
