AMS Book Club Penny War Is Major Success

For National Library Week, April 14-19, students from the AMS
Book Club held a fundraiser called Bestow Books and Bucks @ Your
Library earning a "heavy" $348, $277 in pennies. AMS students were
challenged to bring change or books to donate to the library and
they would earn points for their class. The class with the highest
points would earn music at lunchtime for the week. Nickels were
worth 5 points, dimes were worth 10 points, and so on. Pennies were
worth minus ten points and 27,700 were dumped in opponents'
containers. The AMS Book Club and Mrs. Coronado would like to thank
everyone who participated and congratulations to the 7th graders
who won the contest.
Here are pictures of some of the AMS Book Club members getting their hands really dirty counting pennies. Alyssa Lawrence, Amber Dahlman, Kristina Area, Quentin Rivers, Janice Jimenezsaavedra, Ashlea Chapman, Kerstain Shughart, Briana Area, all pictured, and Lance Ernzen, Robyn Bilderback, Ariana Cafferty, Sean Larson, Janae Macierowski, and Jared Hundley all helped count money, too. Micayla Commings, Cassie Hager, Felicity Crossland, Seth Hefner, and Sean Green all helped collect money before school.
